Emergence of New BJP led Bengal Politics: Nature of Regional Political Development of BJP in West Bengal

Many
contemporary depictions of the political circles in Bengal caught the eyes of
the people of present-day India. Only political experts can tell what
development or deterioration has taken place at the political level in Bengal.
However, due to the suspicious events of the present time, many people's
speculations have been created - the politics of fantasy or, in general, a
perspective political review of the people. Violence against women, gangster
politics, looting - has Bengal not seen before? It will not be wrong to say
that in many contemporary situations after 2008, this kind of extreme influence
is mainly caught by the people of the ruling party or among the opponents who
have gradually become stronger. The phenomenon of vote rigging is also very old,
so it is difficult to say exactly from which direction the politics is going to
be deteriorated. Difficult alter the last assembly election (2021), the
incident of corruption in the recruitment of teachers in Bengal came to light.
Former Education Minister and later Commerce Minister Partha Chatterjee was
sentenced to prison. Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay gained public fame for
hearing the WBSSC corruption case in Calcutta High Court. He was the first
judge in the recruitment corruption case, he was in charge of this bench. Many
people who got illegal teaching as well as non-teaching job, lost their jobs
due to his verdict and at this stage Paresh Adhikari, the minister in-charge of
the Department of School Education, was arrested and summoned before the CBI.
Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay vowed to expose all the veils of corruption. But
finally, he was removed from the case by the order from the Supreme Court of
India. This current judge is now going to be a member of the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP). He resigned from his post last Tuesday and said he would go
straight into politics. It was later learned that he himself said that he could
join the BJP, but today’s conference makes everything clear. It remains to be
seen how much public recognition this will gain for Bengal BJP politics. It is
known that he will be seen as the new face of BJP in Bengal. How long he will
stay in politics, nothing is yet understood. It is probably being said that if everything
goes well, Abhijit Gangopadhyay will participate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Although
the journey of the leadership of the BJP party in Bengal is not long, the
current influence is more than that of the old ruling party i.e. CPIM/Left
Front. The strong influence of the BJP in the state began to emerge gradually
after 2014. The current situation has become for us, a very necessary
situation, which may not be possible if we do not think about it. Bengal has
always had an anti-communal attitude. Communal politics could not meet minimum
standards for Bengal. However, when the Indian politics is based on Hindu
votes, and when the politics of Bengal lean towards Muslim flexibility, which
direction can be found? BJP has always wanted to play politics with the touch
of communalism in the political circles of Bengal but for some reason it has to
break down again and again. Dilip Ghosh was the first leader of BJP politics in
Bengal, but when he became BJP’s National Vice President, Dr. Sukant Majumder
was appointed as the State President. Moreover, in the run-up to the 2021
assembly elections, Mamata Parishad minister and Chief Minister Mamata
Banerjee's right-hand Suvendu Adhikari joined the BJP and challenged Mamata
Banerjee to defeat him from the Nandigram assembly constituency. Although the Chief
Minister Mamata Banerjee did not win from there, she was defeated. However,
even though the BJP gained momentum that year, it could not capture up to 100
seats in the assembly. After that, the leadership of the BJP in the state
changed, the BJP began to look at the politics of Bengal in a new way. In the
meantime, thousands of incidents also happened, to say repellent comments,
counter-attacks, riots, blockades became daily activities between the
government side and the opposition side. Meanwhile, BJP's swift response to the
Sandeshkhali incident is once again known. Nowadays, it appears that Justice
Abhijit Gangopadhyay has entered politics and he has joined BJP today. There is
still confusion in the educated circles as to why Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay
entered politics? Before this, no reasonable comment was heard about the
leadership of the BJP's state committee, but how can such a decision be made
suddenly? But be that as it may, a new face of the BJP has awakened in the
state, a new way will be seen to build the ladder of state BJP leadership.
